Rico Love Speaks On Teairra Mari's Recent DUI Arrest

Rico Love, who signed Teairra to his Division1 label, spoke exclusively with Rap-Up.com about the incident. “I don’t condone drinking and driving. I don’t support it,” said the hitmaker. “I think it was a foolish decision on her part, but at the end of the day we all make mistakes. I had that big brother talk with her and I’m gonna continue to have that with her. But I love her and I still believe in her talent, so we just gonna keep it movin’ and give her our full support. But I do not condone that type of activity at all whatsoever.”

So far Rico and Teairra have recorded five songs together for her Division1 debut and he plans to drop her first single at the top of 2012. “She’s a superstar. If somebody is a star and they have that ‘it’ thing that cannot be taught, all you have to do is put a record with it,” he explained.

Spotted: Teairra Mari Attends Church Service After DUI Arrest

Following her DUI arrest last week, Teairra Mari is getting her life back in order. The 23-year-old singer attended Sunday services at Oasis Church in Los Angeles, her first public outing since being charged with drunk driving in Beverly Hills. She released a statement over the weekend owning up to her mistake and apologizing to those she disappointed.

Teairra Mari Releases Heartwarming Statement About DUI Bust

Teairra Mari is taking responsibility for her actions. The 23-year-old singer was arrested on Friday for driving under the infulence after crashing her vehicle in Beverly Hills. In a statement released today, an embarrassed Mari admits to driving drunk and apologizes to those who were disappointed in her.

Let me start by saying that this is a very embarrassing moment for me, I know that I’ve disappointed so many people including myself. I take full responsibility for my actions, but I absolutely did NOT “attack” a Beverly Hills police officer and I’m very confused by those allegations. I did have drinks and I misjudged the situation by driving myself home. I want to apologize to those that I endangered that night and also to the people that I’ve let down. I hope that this situation can save someone from making the dumb decision to drink and drive!

Breaking News: Teairra Mari Arrested For Drunk Driving & Assult Of Police Officer

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the 23-year-old actress/singer was driving a silver Infiniti through Beverly Hills around 3:00 AM, when she rear-ended the car in front of her.
Police at the accident scene observed "signs of intoxication" from Teairra -- and arrested her for DUI. One person who was at the scene tells TMZ Teairra was "really messed up ... she couldn't even stand."
And it gets worse ... we're told Teairra didn't play nice while she was being booked and became "combative" with one of the arresting officers. Sources tell us one cop suffered a "minor cut" to his hand during the incident.
As a result, Mari now faces multiple charges -- including DUI and assault on a police.
According to law enforcement, Mari is still in custody and bail has been set at $50k.

UPDATE: Teairra has been released from police custody as of 1:10 p.m. PST. She is reportley due back in court Tuesday August 23rd 2011

Breaking News: Teairra Mari Inks A New Deal With Division 1/ Universal Records

Teairra Mari fans may finally get that sophmore album they’ve been waiting for. The R&B chanteuse has departed Warner Bros. Records and signed a new deal with Rico Love’s Division1 label. She made the official announcement on set of the video for “That’s All Me,” helmed by Rico.

“Teairra Mari is now part of the Division1 family. She is officially signed to Division1. We got the lights on all over the world,” said the music maestro, who’s written hits for Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Diddy.

Teairra released the EP Sincerely Yours last year on Warner Bros. and was previously signed to Roc-A-Fella Records.
